Quick Coffee Cake from Carla?
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup brown sugar (was 1/2 cup -- Mom says she usually does 1 cup)
- 1/2 cup white sugar (was 1 cup -- Mom says she usually does 1/2 cup)
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon ("1 t." I think is tablespoon)
Combine the above and set aside 1/2 cup of this mixture.
Add to main portion:
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 cup buttermilk (Mom says she usually uses milk with vinegar added to it: 1 cup regular milk + 1 TB.(tablespoon?) vinegar or lemon juice)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
