Hot Mulled Wine

Ingrediants

  • A bottle of dry red wine
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 sticks of cinnamon
  • 3 cloves
  • 3 tblsp sugar
  • Some cardamon or ginger

Preparations

  1. Heat the red wine in a pot without boiling it
  2. Cut the lemon into slices and add to the wine
  3. Add cinnamon, cloves, sugar, and a little cardamon or ginger to taste
  4. Heat everything for about five minutes (do not boil)
  5. Let stand for one hour

Serving

  • Before serving, reheat and strain
  • Serve in prewarmed glasses or mugs

Notes

Makes 5-6 servings.
